[Client] installs battery systems next to solar panels. Once a unit is at a customer's site, they need to know it is alive, how it is charging and discharging, and when something is wrong, without driving out. Each new installation also had to be registered and configured by hand.
What we shipped
Device provisioning with Azure Device Provisioning Service, so a new unit registers itself on first boot.
Telemetry from each unit over MQTT into Azure IoT Hub.
A web back-office showing every installed unit, its live state and history, with alerts for [what conditions].
Monitoring and logging through Application Insights.
